How to Embrace Uncertain Times

“The future is uncertain…but this uncertainty is at the very heart of human creativity.”

Yes, we’re facing uncertain times, but can we agree that all times truly are uncertain? Do we ever REALLY know what tomorrow will bring? If you go to sleep in your own bed, you expect to wake up in your own bed. You know you’ll probably make a coffee in the morning like you usually do, and that you’re most likely eating tonight’s leftovers for lunch.

But what’s always uncertain is the actual essence of Life experiences. What message will you receive tomorrow? Are you guaranteed to wake up in the morning? Certain elements of our Life are always left to uncertainty.

If you’re reading this right now, I know you’ve been impacted, in one way or another, by the current COVID-ness. It’s a Worldly issue right now and each day we’re receiving new information. Amongst social-distancing, we’re actually more connected than we’ve ever been. Every inch of the planet is being hit by the same wave.

The point I’m making…we’ve always faced uncertainty. From the moment we took our first breath and to the very moment we’ll take our last breath, the Universe will keep us guessing. She does this to help us grow, to evolve, to heal from our ancestral trauma and create a better World for our children.

How can you continue forward with courage and grace? How can you embrace uncertainty wholeheartedly?

1.Believe that you always have a choice. 
In any situation, at any time, you ALWAYS have a choice. And if you ever feel like you don’t…take a moment to pause, to reflect on your current event, and respond from a neutral perspective vs. reacting from a heated emotional state. Practice this skill often.

2.Trust, and trust some more.
The more you strengthen your power of choice, the more you will trust yourself, your intuition, and the Universe. You are ALWAYS co-creating with something great than yourself. You’re never alone. You’re always supported. You’re always loved because you are love.

3.Graciously practice gratitude.
Use your energy to focus on the silver lining. Amidst everything that’s happening in your World, what can you feel really grateful for right now? This is more than just verbalizing what you’re thankful for, this is an activity of the heart, to feel into the gratitude with every cell of your Being. Capture those moments and hard wire them into your DNA.

What the Current Planetary Shift is Teaching Us

We’re amongst a massive planetary shift right now. Life as we know it is evolving, just as the recent developments surrounding our current pandemic. Though uncertainty is among us, I invite you to continue to lead with love and communicate with compassion. I believe this current shift is teaching us many lessons right now. Here’s what I’m sharing with you today:

An INTERRUPTION to our current reality
is a reminder of how INTERCONNECTED
we ALL are and as humans
we’re INSTINCTUAL by nature.

1.Interruption
We’re experiencing an interruption to our ‘normal’ routines and being asked to partake in different behaviour patterns such as social distancing. Whenever we experience an interruption in Life we go through an adjustment period, often preceded with a dose of fear-factor. Today, I’m reminding you to breathe. This interruption is temporary, as is everything and you’ll be okay. In fact, you’ll be more than okay, you’ll be stronger and wiser because of it. Be gentle with yourself as you process all that is happening; rest and allow yourself to receive Universal Guidance amongst the noise.

2.Interconnectedness
This current pandemic reminds us how connected we all are, and we’re ALL connected because we’re all energy. The emotions you experience also operate on certain frequencies. If you allow yourself to be overcome by fear, you’re lowering your energetic vibration, you’re compromising and weakening your immune system. Be mindful of how much ‘news’ you consume. Continue practicing gratitude. Continue being kind to strangers. Continue spending time with your loved ones. Continue being a loving human.

3.Instinct
Some of us who are falling into the fear trap are returning to our instinctual ways: an innate pattern of behaviour in response to a certain stimuli. Think of someone yelling, “fire!” What comes to mind? “Run!” We see this with people ‘overstocking,’ hoarding goods and then reselling on sites like Amazon. This makes my heart hurt. You always have a choice in your actions, ALWAYS. Instinctively, when faced with fear, your caveman brain wants to take over; convincing you to fend for yourself, protect your tribe, and perhaps even panic a little. You’re not a caveman anymore. You’re a Beautiful Human Being with a developed frontal cortex which allows you to practice logic and assume responsibility for your behaviour.

Focus on your mindset right now. Remind yourself how powerful you are. Know that you are always supported: by the Universe, the Divine, God, and your Spirit Guides. Tap into your heart space and fill your spiritual essence with so much love that it has no choice but to ripple out around you; then let your actions follow suite.

Helping You Lean Into Resistance

Do you ever catch yourself resisting? Refusing to accept your reality? Preventing the flow of energy?

Some may say resistance is a sign to turn the other way. My thoughts? I say hellllll-nooo! Resistance is a cue to persevere. Resistance means you’re on the brink of something really, really amazing and now is the time to pick up momentum! Resistance is a gift and as you train yourself to recognize it’s importance, it’ll lead you and guide you to your infinite potential.

With resistance comes acceptance. Acceptance of where you are, why you are, what you are, and who you are in this very moment. It’s about loving yourself unconditionally despite where you think you should be right now. It’s about taking ownership for your actions (and inaction) that have led you to this very place in time and space.

When you accept all facets of yourself in the here and now, you can begin to heal from your past and forge through toward your beautiful future, into a realm of endless possibilities.

Resistance appears when you’re on the edge of your ‘known zone.’ When your ego-driven mind tries to convince you that anything outside of this safe space is, well…unsafe. When this occurs, I invite you to converse with your Ego and assign a name to him/her. Express your appreciation but educate her that now is the time to expand your walls and that you have the power to do so.

The next time you feel yourself experiencing resistance ask yourself, “Why?” What about this situation has you feeling uncomfortable? Are you comparing it to a past experience and expecting the same doubtful outcome? Are you feeding into fear and forecasting an over-exaggerated scenario?

Lastly, remind yourself that your beautiful soul is here to learn and grow through your human experience. You’re meant to evolve. You’re meant to heal and expand your awareness. You’re meant to lead with love and lean into resistance as this is the path of ascension.

5 Helpful Tips to Practice Positive Self-Talk

Experts have estimated we conjure up ~50000 thoughts a day. I know, my jaw dropped when I first heard that too. The National Science Centre says ~80% of those thoughts are negative in nature. EIGHTY PERCENT! This part invokes feelings of sadness. Firstly, because that’s a staggering amount and secondly because I used to be part of that statistic.

That was before I learned the importance of positive self-talk and how mastering this skill can influence your Life in countless ways.

With the work I do, it involves Hypnolinguistics (reviewing our language patterns) and Cognitive Reflex Conditioning (moving from a place of negative thought patterns and habits to creating new, automatic desired responses). This means aligned-living. Being able to consciously choose the best possible option vs. feeling like you need to react in minimal time and act from a place of emotional turmoil. It’s all about leading with love!

Today I’m sharing 5 simple tips rooted in the methods I’ve mentioned above to help you master your language skills, develop your awareness, and practice positive self-talk daily!

1.Start first thing in the morning.
That early morning visit you have with the mirror? Yeah, we all have it. The timing may differ but the theme is generally the same. We start picking ourselves apart (sigh). Not anymore, Sunshine! From this moment onward, you’re spewing only words of love. Tell yourself how much you LOVE yourself. It may feel weird at first but it will get easier with time, I promise.

2.Remind yourself throughout the day.
Pay attention to when the negative self-talk emerges. Is it around 10 AM when you go for your first coffee break? Is it right before bed when your mind starts swirling with a million different ideas? Create positive reminders in your phone to pop up throughout the day. Come up with words that speak to you and pull you out of the swamps…and into the ocean of opportunity.

3.Create a list of high vibrational words.
One of my mentors, Derrick Sweet, says, “Words create our Worlds.” I believe this with all of my heart. Everything is energy, including the verbiage we use throughout the day. Write down 10 happy, positive words. Now pick one of those words and use it throughout your day. My personal favorite: Manifest!

4.Strengthen your frontal cortex.
The front of our brain manages our attention span, tries to rationalize everything, and houses our willpower. It’s also the part of our brain we use when focusing on an unfamiliar task, it’s called one-pointed attention. The more we practice activities like meditation, Reiki, gardening, and sewing to name a few, we are strengthening our ability to focus for longer periods of time. This focus births self-awareness, gives us the power to widen our perspective, and re-frame our negative thought process. Pick an activity and spend 10 minutes on it every day.

5.Take ownership.
Have you ever said to someone, “You make me upset!” Me! I have! Now, was I correct in saying that? Partly. That statement shows you’re trying to express your feelings but you’re not taking ownership for them, you’re placing the blame on someone else. Whenever you’re trying to express your emotions or identify a feeling, own it! Start every feeling sentence with, “I.” This reignites your personal power source and reminds you how much control you have over your responses and choice in words. Stop giving your power away and start owning it.

A How To Guide for Loosening Your Grip on Control

I’ll admit, I like to feel in control of my outcomes. Growing up, a lot of situations were ‘thrown’ at us (my little Sis & I) which we didn’t exactly have control over.

For example, I specifically recall driving down a road in our hometown with my little sister and our Momma; when all of a sudden we saw our Dad walking down the street with another woman, holding her hand, smiling and waving at us. Keep in mind, my parents were married. Imagine for a moment how confusing that may be to a child?

This was the first time my Dad cheated on my Mom.

We were programmed at a very early age (our deep rooted beliefs are ingrained between the ages of 0-7) to believe that Life is unfair, hard, and complicated; like a lot of other beautiful beings in this World. We experienced SEVERAL situations like this growing up. Our main coping mechanism? Hold on to control and NEVER let go. Why? To feel safe of course.

However, with a lot of inner work we’ve learned that we can change our beliefs. Our past does not dictate our future nor does the past need to haunt us. Using something called a Life Script can help you create new, empowering beliefs in alignment with the Life you want to Live, the Life you know you deserve.

Though holding on to control is a tool we use to keep ourselves safe, in actuality this is coping mechanism. When we hide in our ‘known zone’ we’re holding ourselves back from our true potential and we’re allowing our circumstances to shape our destiny. This stunts our personal growth, our professional development, and emotional quotient (emotional intelligence). We’re also wasting countless amounts of energy on manipulating scenarios.

Here are some tools to help you loosen your grip on control and lean into uncertainty:

1.Surrender to the Greater Plan
Know and believe that everything is always for your highest good. There’s a hidden agenda behind all events, whether positive or negative in nature. An event is meant to instil gratitude or teach a powerful lesson (related to this human experience or those from previous lifetimes.)

2.Trust in Co-creation
You are NEVER alone. You are ALWAYS co-creating with a greater force. Whether your beliefs are in God, the Divine, or the Universe, you are always supported. Trust in this empowering relationship that is completely your own. It is what you want it to be.

3.Practice Forgiveness
Who are you blaming for your misfortune? What are you blaming? Release the hold it/they have on you and quit giving your energy away to this idea. Acknowledge the role you played and know that everything unfolded as it was meant to. One can only take your energy with your consent so shift the paradigm and remove the authority that person has over you. You control the perception of your experiences.

Bonus Activity

Create a ‘Control’ List. Think about your current Life and areas you feel you need to control. Write them down and explore ‘Why.’ Does a memory from your past float to the surface? How would your Life be affected (positively/negatively) if you were to release the reigns a little bit?

Spiritual Awakening: 7 Undeniable Signs

What the heck is a Spiritual Awakening, you ask? It’s a new beginning. It provides an enlightened view of Life that stretches well beyond the confines of your ego and allows you to positively shift your perspective. You begin to see the World through new eyes, like a baby entering the World for the first time, you too rediscover yourself and awaken your spirit.

A spiritual awakening is a very beautiful, empowering, and natural process, it’s part of our soulful evolution; however, it can also be confusing and disconcerting. I speak from experience. My Spiritual Awakening occurred after the birth of my son, when my postpartum depression was at it’s peak. It was a very dark time for me and I believe I reached a point where subconsciously, my soul was screaming for help.

It was on this very dark day that I reconnected with my soul and tapped into my personal power source: a source we all have access to. This moment in time showed me that up until this point, I hadn’t truly been Living. I was floating aimlessly. Focusing on the ‘shoulds,’ people pleasing, doing, doing, and doing some more, always busy but never productive. Never focusing on what I actually needed, wanted, or desired to feel fulfilled in this Lifetime.

Do you need to experience trauma in order to enter into a Spiritual Awakening? Absolutely not. By curiously exploring and actively pursuing your passions, you too will eventually be led down this path.

5-Point Checklist to Help You Manifest!

Manifest! No, I’m not talking about a detailed document outlining the contents of a ship and it’s cargo. I’m talking about our ability to bring our goals to Life. To plant a seed of desire and watch it come to fruition. To ‘blast your ask’ and have it delivered in divine timing.

We ALL have the ability to manifest. Every soul, every being, and yes this includes YOU, has the ability to experience the results they desire.

I know, I know. You’re sitting there shaking your head thinking, “but it never works out for me,” “I always get the sh*t end of the stick.”

What if I told you that you’ve been programmed to think this way? Your upbringing, your Life experiences (the great and not-so-great) have all brought to this very place, reading this blog post, questioning the information I’m sharing.

A lot of us, myself included, have been raised to believe that what we want/need/desire is something out of reach. It requires strenuous effort, hours of ‘trying’ and that, “maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.”

Guess what, that’s bologna!!! You deserve to live a happy Life. An abundant Life. A long, beautiful Life filled with love and happiness and magical moments!

This blog post is dedicated to showing you HOW to manifest results with ease. You can watch my FB Live video where I speak all about this (and a recent example in my own Life!). In the meantime, here’s a checklist to get you started. Go gettem’ tiga.

1.Be VERY clear and specific on what you want/need/desire. The Universe is ALWAYS listening! Yup, even when you’re having your morning poop, singing along to your fave Lizzo song. She’s always co-creating with you, and she always delivers. Instead of, “I want a new car!” Say, “I want to purchase a 2019 Tesla and sell my current car because it’s on it’s last leg and I really want to drive something that’s better for the environment.”

2.Envision your results. Use your imagination here! Visualize yourself experiencing the results you desire, and do this often! Close your eyes and imagine yourself selling your car to someone who could really use the parts, see yourself driving out of the lot in your new Tesla; driving down the open road with Tom Cochrane cranked singing, “Life is a highway!” Or whatever you like to listen to 🙂

3.Be open to other possibilities. Even though you have an amazing vision for yourself, perhaps the Universe has an even sweeter deal tucked up her sleeve? Remember, she’s always co-creating with you for your highest good.

4.Practice patience. This is a toughy. Especially in our very modern-day world where tweets and toots are granted with the click of a button. We need to slow down a little bit. Enjoy the process and engage in some delayed gratification. When you plant a flower, do you dig it up every day to see how it’s growing, or do you simply give it what it needs (water, sun, healthy soil, time) and let it be? Quit diggin’ up your flowers!

5. TRUST THE PROCESS. Divine timing truly is divine. What you seek will come to you when it’s meant to. Continue forward. Keep taking positive action steps toward your goals, your visions, and your dreams. They will come to Life when the time is right.

5 Reasons You Had a F*ucking Meltdown

Yup, you read that title right…and I know you’ve been there. Life h-a-p-p-e-n-e-d. Scratch that, sh*t happened. And yes I’m using asterisks in my swear words, my toddler is sitting RIGHT beside me, okay?!

By the way, #lifecoaches have meltdowns too, and we are by faaar NOT perfect nor do we have ALL of our own shit figured out. We have some pretty AMAZING strategies to figure it out but we’re emotional beings too. Let’s face it, we all like a good deal and if the ol’ pity-train is slashin’ prices, I’m buyin’.

Yeah, I hopped on THAT train this week. Not on purpose…yeah right, who am I kidding? #divinetiming What started out as the-worst-flu-ever actually turned into a spiritual cleansing/mental breakdown. I know exactly what brought mine on. Here’s a few reasons you’re either having one right now as you’re reading this through alligator tears, you had one, or you feel one brewing in the depths of your core.

1.You’re ignoring all the signs
You know those funny Universe memes? Hey You, give me a sign! Please! ANYTHING!
Example.
Girl meets Boy. Girl asks Universe if Boy is good for her. Boy is wearing shirt that says, “Don’t talk to me, I’m not boyfriend material.” Universe shakes head.
Mindfully pay attention. Not just enough to float through on autopilot. Enough to actually read the shirt.

2.You’re STILL ignoring all the signs
I’ve been there too. You want something sooo badly that you’ll do anything to make it happen. Even if the Universe throws every single curve ball it’s got, right at your face. I remember connecting with an old friend and we tried making plans to visit. First there was a snowstorm. Then she had a last minute project due. Then my son was sick. I realized later that we actually weren’t at the same points in our lives and having that time apart was quite healthy for our relationship.

3.You keep pulling the victim card
Woe is me! Everything is happening to me! Oh me, oh my! Newsflash, it’s been beaten with a bat already but it’s all happening FOR you. Every interaction, every situation, it’s all meant for you; for your highest good. Erase “why” from your question cards for a while and replace it with, “what.” Think about what you can learn from your current experience as opposed to thinking there’s some big, weird, corrupt conspiracy out to poo-poo all over you.

4.You’re FINALLY waking up
Ahhhh. Can you smell that? No, it’s not coffee; your spirit is ALIVE! #spiritualawakening
We’re experiencing a cosmic shift right now and EVERYONE is waking up. Well, the indigo children, the lightworkers, and those that are in that ‘willingness’ stage. The others will come soon too. You’re finally ready to release the hold of your ego, to realize how powerful you are, and you’re finally starting to push the walls of your ‘known zone.’ Oh! 5.You’re lacking SELF-care
This is a BIG one folks. I suffer from anxiety and depression. I know that a lack of sleep royally f*cks me. I’m talkin’ zombie apocalypse meets flowers in the attic. I literally cannot function without enough z’s. Hydration and nutrition is next. My body loves whole foods, I need to eat often, and I drink water like a camel in Cairo. I crave alone time. When my battery runs low after being with people too long, it’s time for me to check-out so I can tune-in. This all works for me, but pay attention to what works for you. When you’ve had a really great day, journal about it! Make note of what made it so amazing.

Find Happiness with the 5 P’s

The 5 P’s. I hope this message finds you and helps guide you today. If you’re feeling stuck, or caught in the web of worry – visit the 5 P’s. Let them clear away the clutter of confusion and provide clarity where you need it most. Let them lead you to happiness.

🧩Passion (what):
That strong, deep rooted, heart-centred feeling that drives our choices, leading us to our desired outcome. What lights your soul on fire?

🧩Purpose (why):
Our soul assignment. The reason for our existence and contributes to how we show up for ourselves & others in this big, beautiful World. This may require some introspection but it’s well worth it.

🧩Practice (how):
Persistence is Queen. Let’s embrace our talents and avoid complacency by pushing the envelope and learning a little more every day. It’s in our consistent practice that we birth our expertise – and in this process you may just learn that you’re a really good teacher 😉

🧩Patience (a gift):
This involves accepting the unknown from a place of gratitude. Letting go of the reigns and letting the Universe guide us for just a little while. After all, as Gabby Bernstein says, “The Universe Has Our Back!” The only thing that’s truly for certain in this beautiful Life is – well, uncertainty.

🧩Progress (a journey):
Forward movement; fruition! Bringing us closer to our goals and Higher Self. Continue onward. Fail forward. Keep going. Celebrate every success, big or small, and welcome challenges as they arise – they come with such valuable lessons. Enjoy the Journey!

4 Step Guide to Life Mastery

The World we live in is beautifully chaotic. At times, it can be fast moving like a bullet train in rustic Rome and other moments are slow, so very slow, like a sloth searching for supper.

The way in which we view the World is subjective; it’s specific to our lens, a lens that has viewed only your experiences. A lens weathered by pain and painted with love.

We see Life this way because of how we were raised, the people we interact with, the conversations we’re a part of and the events we bear witness to.

We’ve been conditioned to see Life this way. Our actions are habitual in nature and our reactions predictive. It’s a process, a multitude of dances pieced together to form one big, artistic, creative, and dramatic performance.

There are four pieces to be precise:

1.Recognizing
Built on awareness, it’s our ability to take a step back and view life objectively, free from expectations, judgments, and past conditioning.

2.Realizing
Diving deeper into awareness, we then begin to see what’s possible – anything! It starts with the power of choice and it’s rooted in selective attention – deliberately focusing on tasks that are in alignment with our highest good.

3.Replacing
Taking action on our desires, and strengthening our sustained attention so our conscious thoughts can become our habitual responses.

4.Repeating
Consistently taking action to develop our automatic attention – engaging in positive behaviors without having to think about it.

It’s this process paired with willingness, healthy nutrition, the science of neuroplasticity and the interaction of neurotransmitters, that we can begin and continue onward in the journey of Life Mastery.

It’s this process that allows us to experience freedom. Freedom from our false beliefs; freedom from our negative thought patterns, and freedom from expectations.

And when our intentions are clear we can begin the work of rewiring our brains. We can expand our mindset, we can remove negative thought patterns and most importantly, we have the power to rewrite our desired responses.
